1 | AN ACT concerning veterans.
| |||||||||||||||||||
2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| |||||||||||||||||||
3 | represented in the General Assembly:
| |||||||||||||||||||
4 | Section 5. The Disabled Veterans Housing Act is amended by | |||||||||||||||||||
5 | changing Section 1 as follows:

7 | Sec. 1.
Any veteran of the
the military or naval service of | |||||||||||||||||||
8 | the United States
who was a resident of this State at the time | |||||||||||||||||||
9 | he entered such service and
who has been approved by the | |||||||||||||||||||
10 | Administrator of Veterans' Affairs for
assistance under | |||||||||||||||||||
11 | Chapter 21 of Title 38, United States Code, as now or
hereafter | |||||||||||||||||||
12 | amended, shall be entitled to receive assistance under this
Act | |||||||||||||||||||
13 | for the purpose of acquiring within this State or without this | |||||||||||||||||||
14 | State,
where due to service-connected disabilities and upon the | |||||||||||||||||||
15 | advice or
recommendation of a duly recognized physician of the | |||||||||||||||||||
16 | Veterans
Administration in order to protect the health of the | |||||||||||||||||||
17 | veteran, such veteran
cannot reside in this State, a suitable | |||||||||||||||||||
18 | dwelling unit with special fixtures
or movable facilities made | |||||||||||||||||||
19 | necessary by the veteran's permanent and total
| |||||||||||||||||||
20 | service-connected disability. | |||||||||||||||||||
