1 | AN ACT concerning wildlife.

2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, | |||||||||||||||||||
3 | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | Section 5. The Wildlife Habitat Management Areas Act is | |||||||||||||||||||
5 | amended by changing Section 2 as follows:

7 | Sec. 2.
In order to cooperate with private land owners and
| |||||||||||||||||||
8 | and others who
desire to aid in the conservation of game and | |||||||||||||||||||
9 | other wildlife, the
Department may create and maintain Wildlife | |||||||||||||||||||
10 | Habitat Management Areas on
suitable lands owned or controlled | |||||||||||||||||||
11 | by individuals, corporations,
associations, or municipalities. | |||||||||||||||||||
12 | The hunting rights for such land shall be
controlled by the | |||||||||||||||||||
13 | property owners in mutual agreement with the Department,
by | |||||||||||||||||||
14 | written contract with the landowner or person having legal | |||||||||||||||||||
15 | control and
authority to grant such rights for an uninterrupted | |||||||||||||||||||
16 | period of 5 years or
more. When properly signed, the Department | |||||||||||||||||||
17 | may authorize and empower the
director to execute such | |||||||||||||||||||
18 | agreements on its behalf. | |||||||||||||||||||
