1 | AN ACT concerning transportation.

2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| |||||||||||||||||||
3 | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by changing | |||||||||||||||||||
5 | Section 6-901 as follows:

7 | Sec. 6-901. Definitions. For the purposes of this
Article:

8 | "Board" means the Driver's License Medical Advisory Board.
| |||||||||||||||||||
9 | "Medical examiner" or "medical practitioner" means: | |||||||||||||||||||
10 | (i) any
person licensed to practice medicine in all its | |||||||||||||||||||
11 | branches in
the State of Illinois or any other state;
| |||||||||||||||||||
12 | (ii) a licensed physician assistant who has been | |||||||||||||||||||
13 | delegated the performance of medical examinations by his or | |||||||||||||||||||
14 | her supervising physician; or | |||||||||||||||||||
15 | (iii) a licensed advanced practice nurse who has a | |||||||||||||||||||
16 | written collaborative agreement with a collaborating | |||||||||||||||||||
17 | physician which authorizes him or her to perform medical | |||||||||||||||||||
18 | examinations ; or . | |||||||||||||||||||
19 | (iv) a licensed optometrist for the purpose of | |||||||||||||||||||
20 | certifying vision fitness to operate a motor vehicle. | |||||||||||||||||||
