Bill Title: Amends the Department of Central Management Services Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Department of Central Management Services shall: (1) review the condition of all State-owned buildings annually; (2) report to the General Assembly on the condition of all State-owned buildings annually; (3) identify the necessary costs to repair and maintain all State-owned building and report those costs to the General Assembly annually; and (4) adopt rules creating and overseeing a repair and maintenance schedule for all State-owned vacant buildings.

SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
20 ILCS 405/405-316 new

    Amends the Department of Central Management Services Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Department of Central Management Services shall: (1) review the condition of all State-owned buildings annually; (2) report to the General Assembly on the condition of all State-owned buildings annually; (3) identify the necessary costs to repair and maintain all State-owned building and report those costs to the General Assembly annually; and (4) adopt rules creating and overseeing a repair and maintenance schedule for all State-owned vacant buildings.

1    AN ACT concerning State government.
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4    Section 5. The Department of Central Management Services
5Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by
6adding Section 405-316 as follows:
7    (20 ILCS 405/405-316 new)
8    Sec. 405-316. Maintenance of vacant buildings. To prevent
9the deterioration of State buildings, the Department shall:
10        (1) review the condition of all State-owned buildings
11 annually;    
12        (2) report to the General Assembly on the condition of
13 each State-owned building annually;    
14        (3) identify the necessary costs to repair and
15 maintain each State-owned building and report those costs
16 to the General Assembly annually; and    
17        (4) adopt rules creating and overseeing a repair and
18 maintenance schedule for all State-owned vacant buildings.
