SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
50 ILCS 705/10    from Ch. 85, par. 510

    Amends the Illinois State Police Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board may not charge retired law enforcement officers more than $30 annually to complete the annual certification of retired law enforcement officers qualified under federal law to carry a concealed weapon.

1    AN ACT concerning government.
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4    Section 5. The Illinois Police Training Act is amended by
5changing Section 10 as follows:
6    (50 ILCS 705/10)    (from Ch. 85, par. 510)
7    Sec. 10. The Board may make, amend and rescind such rules
8and regulations as may be necessary to carry out the
9provisions of this Act, including those relating to the annual
10certification of retired law enforcement officers qualified
11under federal law to carry a concealed weapon. The Board may
12not charge retired law enforcement officers more than $30
13annually to complete the annual certification. A copy of all
14rules and regulations and amendments or rescissions thereof
15shall be filed with the Secretary of State within a reasonable
16time after their adoption. The schools certified by the Board
17and participating in the training program may dismiss from the
18school any trainee prior to the officer's completion of the
19course, if in the opinion of the person in charge of the
20training school, the trainee is unable or unwilling to
21satisfactorily complete the prescribed course of training.
22    The Board shall adopt emergency rules to administer this
23Act in accordance with Section 5-45 of the Illinois

1Administrative Procedure Act. For the purposes of the Illinois
2Administrative Procedure Act, the General Assembly finds that
3the adoption of rules to implement this Act is deemed an
4emergency and necessary to the public interest, safety, and
5welfare.
