Provides for repeal of the provisions on January 1, 2017. Effective immediately.

SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
220 ILCS 5/9-228 new

Amends the Public Utilities Act. 1 AN ACT concerning regulation.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by adding
5Section 9-228 as follows:
6 (220 ILCS 5/9-228 new)
7 Sec. 9-228. Report; technological and other innovations.
8No later than June 30, 2016, the Commission shall issue a
9report evaluating whether the provisions of this Act are
10sufficient to allow consideration and, where appropriate,
11implementation of technological and other innovations that
12benefit electric utility customers.
13 This Section is repealed on January 1, 2017.
14 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
15becoming law.
