Bill Title: Amends the General Assembly Operations Act. Provides that any member of the General Assembly who wishes to introduce a bill pertaining to a firearm must be able to prove that he or she has completed firearm training requirements under the Firearm Concealed Carry Act, range safety officer training, and a basic knowledge test of calibers and gauges of firearms.

1 | AN ACT concerning State government.

2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| |||||||||||||||||||
3 | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | Section 5. The General Assembly Operations Act is amended | |||||||||||||||||||
5 | by adding Section 13 as follows:

6 | (25 ILCS 10/13 new) | |||||||||||||||||||
7 | Sec. 13. Firearm legislation; requirements. Any member of | |||||||||||||||||||
8 | the General Assembly who wishes to introduce a bill pertaining | |||||||||||||||||||
9 | to a firearm must be able to produce proof, upon request, that | |||||||||||||||||||
10 | he or she has completed: (1) the firearm training requirements | |||||||||||||||||||
11 | under Section 75 of the Firearm Concealed Carry Act; (2) range | |||||||||||||||||||
12 | safety officer training; and (3) a basic knowledge test of | |||||||||||||||||||
13 | calibers and gauges of firearms.
