AN ACT concerning regulation.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by adding
Section 5-118 as follows:
(220 ILCS 5/5-118 new)
Sec. 5-118. Utility extension advance deposit agreements.
(a) As used in this Section, "utility extension advance
deposit agreement" means an agreement between an applicant and
an electric utility or gas utility to build or connect a new
line extension from a development property to a utility. The
agreement may include such items as engineering studies and
plans, estimated construction costs, initial deposit amounts,
refund of payment terms, property rights, timelines for work
completed, and termination agreements.
(b) Public utilities shall file all utility extension
advance deposit agreements with the Commission.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
becoming law.
