| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, It is highly fitting that the Illinois General | ||||||
3 | Assembly pays honor and respect to truly great
individuals who | ||||||
4 | have served our country and, in doing so, have made the | ||||||
5 | ultimate sacrifice for our
nation; and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Sgt. Dan G. Feezell was born in Wilmington on | ||||||
7 | March 10, 1948; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Sgt. Feezell bravely served in the U.S. Army with | ||||||
9 | the 101st Airborne Division; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Sgt. Feezell began a tour of duty in South | ||||||
11 | Vietnam on May 3, 1969; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Sgt. Feezell was killed in action in the Quang | ||||||
13 | Tri Province of South
Vietnam on August 12, 1970; therefore, | ||||||
14 | be it

15 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | ||||||
16 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE HOUSE OF | ||||||
17 | REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING HEREIN, that we designate the West | ||||||
18 | Baltimore Street Bridge over Forked Creek in Wilmington as the | ||||||
19 | "Sgt. Dan G. Feezell Memorial Bridge"; and be it further

1 | RESOLVED, That the Illinois Department of Transportation | ||||||
2 | is requested to erect at suitable locations,
consistent with | ||||||
3 | State and federal regulations, appropriate plaques or signs | ||||||
4 | giving notice of the name the
"Sgt. Dan G. Feezell Memorial | ||||||
5 | Bridge"; and be it further
| ||||||
6 | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be | ||||||
7 | presented to the family of Sgt. Feezell, the
Mayor of | ||||||
8 | Wilmington, and the Secretary of Transportation.
