2 | WHEREAS, Brandon Johnson, the Mayor-elect of the City of | ||||||
3 | Chicago, will come to the City of Springfield, Illinois, on | ||||||
4 | Wednesday, April 19, 2023; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, The Mayor-elect will be in the capital city while | ||||||
6 | the One Hundred and Third General Assembly of the State of | ||||||
7 | Illinois is in session; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, The Mayor-elect has been asked and has agreed to | ||||||
9 | address a Joint Session of the two Houses; therefore, be it

10 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | ||||||
11 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE HOUSE OF | ||||||
12 | REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING HEREIN, that the two Houses shall | ||||||
13 | invite Chicago Mayor-elect Brandon Johnson to address a Joint | ||||||
14 | Session of this General Assembly; and be it further

15 | RESOLVED, That the two Houses shall convene in a Joint | ||||||
16 | Session on April 19, 2023, at the call of the President of the | ||||||
17 | Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, in the | ||||||
18 | Chamber of the House of Representatives, for the purpose of | ||||||
19 | hearing Chicago Mayor-elect Brandon Johnson address the | ||||||

2 | presented to Mayor-elect Johnson, as a formal expression of | ||||||
