2 | WHEREAS, It is highly fitting that the Illinois General
| ||||||
3 | Assembly pays honor and respect to individuals who have given
| ||||||
4 | their lives in service to their communities; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Todd Hanneken was born in Decatur to Jerry and | ||||||
6 | Vickie (St. Pierre) Hanneken on December 3, 1975; he graduated | ||||||
7 | from Mt. Zion High School in 1994 and received his bachelor's | ||||||
8 | degree in criminal justice sciences from Illinois State | ||||||
9 | University in 1999; he married Michelle Jean "Shelley" Hillman | ||||||
10 | on August 18, 2001; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Todd Hanneken achieved his lifelong goal of | ||||||
12 | becoming a second generation Illinois State Police Trooper in | ||||||
13 | December of 2000 as a part of Cadet Class 100; he was assigned | ||||||
14 | first to State Police District 15 in Downers Grove and then | ||||||
15 | home to State Police District 10, Pesotum; he received several | ||||||
16 | professional honors; and

17 | WHEREAS, Todd Hanneken was dedicated to his family and | ||||||
18 | friends and to serving his community of Mt. Zion and the State | ||||||
19 | of Illinois; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Todd Hanneken was preceded in death by his | ||||||
21 | grandparents, Paul and Evelyn Hanneken and Gerald St. Pierre; |

2 | WHEREAS, At the time of his passing, Todd Hanneken was | ||||||
3 | survived by his wife of nearly 20 years, Shelley; his sons, | ||||||
4 | Benjamin Anthony and Nicholas William; his parents; his | ||||||
5 | brother, Chad (Mandy); his grandmother, Doris St. Pierre; his | ||||||
6 | in-laws, Bill and Linda Westbrook and Greg Hillman; his | ||||||
7 | sister-in-law, Wendy Boeke (Jim Judd); and his nieces and | ||||||
8 | nephews, Cade Hanneken, Luke Hanneken, McKinleigh Killham, and | ||||||
9 | Grace Boeke; therefore, be it

10 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
11 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE HOUSE OF | ||||||
12 | REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING HEREIN, that we designate Illinois | ||||||
13 | Route 121 as it runs from the Macon/Moultrie County line to the | ||||||
14 | intersection of Route 121 and Route 36 in Decatur as the | ||||||
15 | "Trooper Todd Hanneken Memorial Highway"; and be it further
| ||||||
16 | RESOLVED, That the Illinois Department of Transportation
| ||||||
17 | is requested to erect at suitable locations, consistent with
| ||||||
18 | State and federal regulations, appropriate plaques or signs | ||||||
19 | giving notice of the name of "Trooper Todd Hanneken Memorial | ||||||
20 | Highway"; and be it further

21 | RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be | ||||||
22 | presented to the family of Todd Hanneken and the Secretary of |
