SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Irene Zehr of Peoria, who passed away on
January 11, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Irene Zehr was born on February 7, 1925, in Ottawa
to George and Lottie Nettie Dean; she married Leroy Zehr on
June 14, 1955; and
WHEREAS, Irene Zehr worked for many years as a nurse at
Parc; she worked with the Foster Grandparent program for the
Community Action Agency and was involved with Friendship House;
and
WHEREAS, Irene Zehr was preceded in death by her parents,
George and Lottie Dean; her husband, Leroy Zehr; and her son,
Larry; and
WHEREAS, Irene Zehr is survived by her daughters, Susan
(George) Chelikas and Marcia (David) Rigsby; her sons, Dennis
(Laurie) Zehr, Craig (Valeri) Zehr, and Michael; her grandson,
Andy (Stacy) Zehr; her granddaughters, Heather (Victor) Zehr
and Becky (Jeff) Grady; and 7 great-grandchildren; therefore,

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Irene Zehr, and we extend our sincere condolences to her
family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Irene Zehr as an expression of our
deepest sympathy.
