SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Nancy Joanne Czarnik of Elk Grove
4Village, who passed away on January 29, 2023; and
5 WHEREAS, Nancy Czarnik was born to Felicia and Walter
6Spejcher in Chicago on October 25th, 1941; she married Frank
7J. Czarnik in 1963, and shortly after, they moved to Elk Grove
8Village, where they built their life together and welcomed two
9sons; and
10 WHEREAS, Nancy Czarnik worked as a real estate trust
11officer in Elk Grove;; and
12 WHEREAS, Nancy Czarnik took an active role in the Elk
13Grove Village community; she first became involved with Elk
14Grove Village as an appointed member of the Plan Commission on
15April 25, 1989; she dedicated over 40 years of public service
16to the community as a Village Trustee for 32 years, a Kenneth
17Young Center Board Member, and a member of the Jaycee wives
18organization and served on numerous other boards, committees,
19and charities; on her last day in public office, Elk Grove
20Village dedicated a plaque in her honor; and
21 WHEREAS, Nancy Czarnik was deeply committed to her fail

1and the Catholic Church, where she served as a Eucharistic
2Minister; and
3 WHEREAS, Nancy Czarnik had a great affection for cards and
4a deep love of travel; she enjoyed many adventures around the
5world and lived her life with strength, integrity, and gusto;
6her most fulfilling role was as "Busia" to her grandchildren,
7and she cherished the moments of sharing advice, watching
8movies, traveling together, and having special sleepovers; and
9 WHEREAS, Nancy Czarnik was preceded in death by her
10husband; and
11 WHEREAS, Nancy Czarnik is survived by her children, Carl
12(Patricia) Czarnik and Frank P. (Andrea) Czarnik; her
13grandchildren, Kyle and Alaina Czarnik; and her extended
14family and friends; therefore, be it
15 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
17Nancy Joanne Czarnik and extend our sincere condolences to her
18family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
19further
20 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Nancy Czarnik as an expression of
