2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Joseph E. "Joe" Fox of Peoria, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on February 1, 2019; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Joe Fox was born in Danville to George William and | ||||||
6 | Dorothy Hannaple Fox on July 10, 1936; he graduated from | ||||||
7 | Danville High School, where he was captain of the golf and | ||||||
8 | swimming teams; he attended General Motors Institute/Kettering | ||||||
9 | University, where he received his bachelor's degree in | ||||||
10 | industrial engineering; he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon | ||||||
11 | Fraternity; he earned his Master of Business Administration | ||||||
12 | from Michigan State University, where he also served as the | ||||||
13 | Director of Butterfield Residence Hall; he married Anne Maple | ||||||
14 | in Peoria on June 29, 1963; and

15 | WHEREAS, Joe Fox moved to Peoria and worked as the Director | ||||||
16 | of Housing at Bradley University; he later became interested in | ||||||
17 | insurance and finances and, as the owner of Client Services, | ||||||
18 | Inc., enjoyed a 50-year career in insurance and investments; he | ||||||
19 | received many professional awards and certifications, | ||||||
20 | including the designation of Chartered Life Underwriter and | ||||||
21 | Chartered Financial Consultant; and

22 | WHEREAS, Joe Fox was dedicated to community service and was |

1 | elected president of the American Cancer Society, the Peoria | ||||||
2 | Life Underwriters Association, and the High Point Association; | ||||||
3 | he was treasurer of the Kickapoo Council of Girl Scouts and the | ||||||
4 | Women's Strength/Center for Prevention of Abuse; he also served | ||||||
5 | on the Board of the Illinois Society of Charter Life | ||||||
6 | Underwriters and the Downtown Rotary; as an avid golfer, he | ||||||
7 | accumulated many awards, trophies, and good friends; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Joe Fox was preceded in death by his parents and | ||||||
9 | his sister, Patricia; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Joe Fox is survived by his wife, Anne; his | ||||||
11 | daughter, Amy (Richard) Jenkins; his granddaughter, Juliette | ||||||
12 | Jenkins; and his two nephews; therefore, be it
| ||||||
13 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
14 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
15 | Joseph E. "Joe" Fox and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
16 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
17 | further

18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
19 | presented to the family of Joe Fox as an expression of our | ||||||
20 | deepest sympathy.
