| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Kenneth E. "Ken" Kessinger of East | ||||||
| 4 | Moline, who passed away on January 28, 2019; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Ken Kessinger was born in East Alton to Kenneth A. | ||||||
| 6 | and Lovell (Morey) Kessinger on August 5, 1933; he served in | ||||||
| 7 | the United States Navy for four years, where he was also a | ||||||
| 8 | Golden Glove Boxer; he married Annabelle Abernathy in East | ||||||
| 9 | Alton on August 15, 1958; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, In 1995, Ken Kessinger retired from | ||||||
| 11 | McDonald-Douglas in St. Louis, now Boeing, after 21 years of | ||||||
| 12 | service; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Ken Kessinger was a member of First Southern | ||||||
| 14 | Baptist Church; he enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Ken Kessinger was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 16 | parents; his wife, Annabelle; his sister, Virginia Simms; his | ||||||
| 17 | special friend, Bev Robinson; and his sister-in-law, Alberta | ||||||
| 18 | Weidel; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Ken Kessinger is survived by his children, Ricky | ||||||
| 20 | (Susan) Kessinger, Brian (Bobbie Henkels) Kessinger, and Tim | ||||||

| 1 | (Jane Asher) Kessinger; his grandchildren, Shane (Jennifer), | ||||||
| 2 | Adam, Nathan (Sarah), Becky (John), Jeremy (Sara), and Kyle | ||||||
| 3 | Kessinger, Lindsay Henkels, and James and Trisha Kessinger; his | ||||||
| 4 | great-grandchildren, Ivy, Lauren, Aubrey, Nathan, Nickolas, | ||||||
| 5 | Kamden, Kasen, Kennedy, and Griffin; his brother, Bob (Ruby) | ||||||
| 6 | Kessinger; his brother-in-law, Jim Simms; and his nephew, Mike | ||||||

| 8 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL | ||||||
| 9 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 10 | Kenneth E. "Ken" Kessinger and extend our sincere condolences | ||||||
| 11 | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | ||||||
