2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Dorothy T. Hughes of Elburn, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on January 3, 2011; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, She was born October 4, 1925, in Chicago, the | ||||||
6 | daughter of Michael and Bridget (Duffy) Murray; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, She graduated from DePaul Law School, where she | ||||||
8 | met her husband, James Hughes; they were married at St. | ||||||
9 | Bernadette's in Evergreen Park; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, She worked in insurance law before becoming a | ||||||
11 | mother; she was a longtime member of St. Gall Catholic Church | ||||||
12 | in Elburn and a former member of St. Peter Catholic Church in | ||||||
13 | Geneva; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; her | ||||||
15 | sister, Mary Murray; and her brothers, Michael and Donald | ||||||
16 | Murray; and

17 | WHEREAS, Dorothy Hughes is survived by her husband of 59 | ||||||
18 | years, James; her children, James (Jayne), Maureen McKanna, | ||||||
19 | Michael (Patrice), Sheila (Robert) Fitzsimmons, and Sean | ||||||
20 | (Janet); her grandchildren, John and James Hughes, Nolan, |

2 | Matthew, Christian, and Tess Fitzsimmons, and Meaghan and Erin | ||||||

4 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL | ||||||
5 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with | ||||||
6 | her family and friends, the passing of Dorothy Hughes; and be | ||||||
