SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Blanche M. Thompson of Arlington Heights,
who passed away on February 10, 2017; and
WHEREAS, Blanche Thompson was born in Chicago on September
21, 1924; and
WHEREAS, Blanche Thompson was a longtime member of the
administrative staff of Des Plaines School District 62,
including for many years as the Executive Assistant to the
Superintendent; and
WHEREAS, Blanche Thompson was a member of Trinity Lutheran
Church in Des Plaines for over 60 years; and
WHEREAS, Blanche Thompson was preceded in death by her
husband of 66 years, Harry E. Thompson Jr., and her
granddaughter, Sarah Thompson; and
WHEREAS, Blanche Thompson is survived by her children, Mark
(Janet) Thompson, Randy Thompson, and Laurie (Fred) Tennyson;
her grandchildren, Christine (Billy) Ashby, Clay Thompson,
Kyle Tennyson, and Thea Zalabak; her great-grandchildren,
Sarah and Hannah Ashby; and her brother, Richard (Elaine)

Tanney; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Blanche M. Thompson, and extend our sincere condolences to her
family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Blanche Thompson as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
