SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of LeRoy Daniel Herchenbach, who passed away
on February 20, 2015; and
WHEREAS, LeRoy Herchenbach was born in St. Bernard,
Nebraska on November 29, 1923 and moved to Illinois during the
Great Depression; he served in the United States military
during World War II and took part in the invasion of Normandy;
he married Marilee McDougall; and
WHEREAS, LeRoy Herchenbach and his wife co-founded Herky's
Trucking and established a family business that became
synonymous with the family name; and
WHEREAS, LeRoy Herchenbach was preceded in death by his
wife of 57 years, Marilee, and his daughters, Sharyn (Charles
Hershey) and Janet (Chris Calhoun); and
WHEREAS, LeRoy Herchenbach is survived by his children,
Jack (Connie), Rick, Mike, Jill (Mark Rhoderick), Joe (Beth),
and Amy; his companion, Donna Beagley; his sister, Emily
(Robert Kerbs); and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren,
and extensive family relations; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
LeRoy Daniel Herchenbach, and extend our sincere condolences to
his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of LeRoy Herchenbach as an expression
of our deepest sympathy.
