2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Joel Clayton Johnson Sr. of Peoria, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on April 4, 2013; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Joel Johnson Sr. was born on August 17, 1962, in | ||||||
6 | Chicago to Bishop Joseph H. and Annie Jo (Hunter) Johnson; he | ||||||
7 | graduated from Woodruff High School in 1980; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Joel Johnson Sr. was an ordained minister, peer | ||||||
9 | mentor, and board member at New Hope Apartments and its | ||||||
10 | president's counsel; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Joel Johnson Sr. was employed by ComEd for over a | ||||||
12 | decade and held various positions at Caterpillar, Cilco, UPS, | ||||||
13 | and ADM; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Joel Johnson Sr. was preceded in death by his | ||||||
15 | mother, Annie Jo Gordon; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Joel Johnson Sr. is survived by his children, Joel | ||||||
17 | Clayton Johnson Jr. and Gabrielle Armani Johnson; his father, | ||||||
18 | Bishop Joseph Johnson; his siblings Jonathan (Dedra) Johnson | ||||||
19 | Sr., Illinois State Representative Jehan (Derrick) Booth, | ||||||
20 | Jamal (Rosie) Gordon, Ralph (Gloria) Wrightner, Roger Jordan, |
