| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Dale M. Gillan of East Moline, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on May 1, 2021; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Dale Gillan was born in Mystic, Iowa to Melvin | ||||||
6 | and Atta Mae (McMillan) Gillan on June 9, 1920; he served in | ||||||
7 | the U.S. Navy during World War II; he married Sylvia Stacey in | ||||||
8 | Clinton, Iowa on April 16, 1976, and she preceded him in death | ||||||
9 | on March 9, 2010; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Dale Gillan retired from International Harvester | ||||||
11 | Works in East Moline in 1974; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Dale Gillan was a member of the Fraternal Order | ||||||
13 | of Eagles; he enjoyed listening to music and gardening; he | ||||||
14 | farmed in the Hillsdale area in his early years; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Dale Gillan was preceded in death by his wife; | ||||||
16 | his parents; his three brothers; his two sisters; and his | ||||||
17 | stepdaughter, Estelle Goulet; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Dale Gillan is survived by his stepchildren, Joan | ||||||
19 | Gargano, Maxine VanWick, Stacey Roberts, and Lory (Andrew) | ||||||
20 | Duprey; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; |

2 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
3 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
4 | Dale M. Gillan and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
5 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
6 | further
| ||||||
7 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
8 | presented to the family of Dale Gillan as an expression of our | ||||||
9 | deepest sympathy.
