2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Maxine Althea Keith of Peoria, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on September 29, 2023; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Maxine Keith was born to Martin Daniel and Mabel | ||||||
6 | Victoria (Engquist) Heindselman in Paxton on December 17, | ||||||
7 | 1924; she married William Edward Keith in New Albany, Indiana | ||||||
8 | on April 28, 1943; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, During World War II, Maxine Keith worked at | ||||||
10 | Caterpillar Inc., where she made parts; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Maxine Keith and her husband owned and operated | ||||||
12 | Viking Catering in Peoria for 40 years; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Maxine Keith was a member of First English | ||||||
14 | Lutheran Church in Peoria, where she was active in the | ||||||
15 | church's Business Women's Circle; she was also a member of the | ||||||
16 | Heart of Illinois Via de Cristo; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Maxine Keith was preceded in death by her | ||||||
18 | husband; one infant brother; her brother, Robert Heindselman; | ||||||
19 | and two sisters, Voda Cochran and Kathleen Kagel; and

1 | WHEREAS, Maxine Keith is survived by her sons, William | ||||||
2 | (Marsha) Keith and Donald (Brenda) Keith; her daughters, | ||||||
3 | Rebecca Campbell and Vickie Lewis; and many grandchildren, | ||||||
4 | great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and | ||||||
5 | nephews; therefore, be it

7 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
