| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Frederick Anton "Tony" Fleming of Athens, | ||||||
| 4 | Georgia, who passed away on January 10, 2014; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Tony Fleming was a graduate of Briarcliff High | ||||||
| 6 | School in Atlanta, Georgia and Georgia State University; he | ||||||
| 7 | served his country with the United States Army 82nd Airborne | ||||||
| 8 | Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Tony Fleming worked as a journalist and was | ||||||
| 10 | associated with Thomson Reuters for the past 9 years; he was an | ||||||
| 11 | award-winning sports editor at the Americus Times-Recorder; | ||||||
| 12 | and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Tony Fleming enjoyed woodworking, being a | ||||||
| 14 | wordsmith, sports, and music; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Tony Fleming was preceded in death by his father, | ||||||
| 16 | William Torrance Fleming, Sr.; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Tony Fleming is survived by his wife, Faye Beck | ||||||
| 18 | Fleming; his mother, Frederica L. Fleming Newsome (John P.); | ||||||
| 19 | his brother, William T. "Buddy" Fleming, Jr.; his sisters, | ||||||
| 20 | Katherine F. Cullerton (Jeffrey H.) and Laura F. McKellar | ||||||

| 1 | (Russell D.); his aunts, Mary Linda Thomas and Virginia F. | ||||||
| 2 | Matthews; his nephews, William T. Fleming, III, David W. | ||||||

| 7 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 8 | Frederick Anton "Tony" Fleming, and extend our sincere | ||||||
| 9 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
