2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Jon L. Christiansen of Moline, who passed | ||||||
4 | away on August 14, 2017; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Jon Christiansen was born in in Moline to L.R. and | ||||||
6 | Harriett Eckdahl Christiansen on August 21, 1937; he graduated | ||||||
7 | from Moline High School and served in the United States Air | ||||||
8 | National Guard; he earned a bachelor's degree and attended both | ||||||
9 | Drake University and Augustana College; he married Heidi Radik | ||||||
10 | in Moline on June 30, 1962; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Jon Christiansen began his career at L.R. | ||||||
12 | Christiansen Company in Moline and worked his way up to | ||||||
13 | president; he then turned his attention to real estate and was | ||||||
14 | instrumental in revitalizing the old International Harvester | ||||||
15 | Farmall plant into the Quad City Industrial Center; along with | ||||||
16 | his brother, Jim, he formed L.R.C. Developers and L.R.C. Real | ||||||
17 | Estate; most recently, he was CEO of L.R.C. Real Estate in Rock | ||||||
18 | Island; he held memberships in many organizations, including | ||||||
19 | Rotary Club, the Paul Harris Society, Renew Moline, Short Hills | ||||||
20 | Country Club, Bay Colony Beach Club in Naples, Florida, and | ||||||
21 | Boot Lake Homeowners Association in Eagle River, Wisconsin; he | ||||||
22 | was on the board of the YMCA, Salvation Army, and First Federal | ||||||
23 | Savings and Loan; and

1 | WHEREAS, Jon Christiansen was a longtime winter resident of | ||||||
2 | Naples, Florida and enjoyed summer vacations in Eagle River, | ||||||
3 | Wisconsin; he was an avid tennis player, loving husband, | ||||||
4 | father, and grandfather; he enjoyed attending and | ||||||
5 | photographing his grandsons' sporting events and activities; | ||||||
6 | and

7 | WHEREAS, Jon Christiansen was preceded in death by his | ||||||
8 | parents; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Jon Christiansen is survived by his wife of over | ||||||
10 | 55 years; his daughter, Kimber (Dan) Frieden; his brother, Jim | ||||||
11 | (Pat) Christiansen; his grandsons, Ben and Ryan Frieden; his | ||||||
12 | nieces, Helle Getz, Jill (Dave) Latting, and Sue (Charlie) | ||||||
13 | Hintz; and his nephew, Scott (Kami) Christiansen; therefore, be | ||||||
14 | it

15 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL | ||||||
16 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
17 | Jon L. Christiansen, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
18 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
19 | further

20 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
21 | presented to the family of Jon Christiansen as an expression of |
