2 | WHEREAS, The member of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Alvin James Schuman of North Aurora, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on March 4, 2014; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Alvin Schuman was born in Elgin on May 27, 1927 to | ||||||
6 | William and Alvina (nee Lange) Schuman; he served in the United | ||||||
7 | States Army as a 612th quartermaster; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Alvin Schuman worked for Burgess Norton in Geneva | ||||||
9 | for 42 years; he served as a volunteer fireman for the Geneva | ||||||
10 | Fire Department for 42 years and for 23 years as a Boy Scout | ||||||
11 | troop leader for Troop 53 in Geneva; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Alvin Schuman was a long-time member of First | ||||||
13 | Baptist Church of Geneva; he enjoyed camping and fishing; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Alvin Schuman was preceded in death by his | ||||||
15 | parents, and by his brother, Richard; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Alvin Schuman is survived by his wife of 65 years, | ||||||
17 | Rose (nee Bradley); his sons, Steve (Karen), Dennis, and Tom | ||||||
18 | (Dee); his grandchildren, Matt (Kristie), Eleanor, and Marion | ||||||
19 | Schuman; his great-grandchildren, Hunter Funk and Riley, | ||||||
20 | Matthew, Taylor, and Cody Schuman; and his nieces and nephews; |

2 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||
3 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
4 | Alvin James Schuman, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
5 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
6 | further

7 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
8 | presented to the family of Alvin Schuman as an expression of | ||||||
9 | our deepest sympathy.
