2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Gary R. Johnson of Carbon Cliff, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on April 23, 2022; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Gary Johnson was born to Arthur and Cleo (Phelps) | ||||||
6 | Johnson in Missoula, Montana on April 20, 1936; he married | ||||||
7 | Marguerite Roby in Rock Island on July 17, 1975; he served as a | ||||||
8 | member of the military police in the U. S. Army; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Gary Johnson retired from Augustana College in | ||||||
10 | Rock Island; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Gary Johnson enjoyed hunting and fishing in his | ||||||
12 | early years; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Gary Johnson was preceded in death by his parents | ||||||
14 | and his son, Gary Johnson; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Gary Johnson is survived by his wife of 46 years, | ||||||
16 | Marguerite; his children, Michael Johnson, JoLana (Randy) | ||||||
17 | Thein, Eric Johnson, Charles (Danette) Johnson, and Tammy | ||||||
18 | (Terry) Wallace; his stepson, James (Annette) Roby; his ten | ||||||
19 | grandchildren; his 21 great-grandchildren; his | ||||||
20 | great-great-granddaughter; and his sister, Vivian Larsen; |
