| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Ruth Juanita Hatcher of Granite City, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on April 28, 2022; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Ruth Hatcher was born to Mary (Vaughn) Ferguson | ||||||
6 | and Roy Lee Ferguson Sr. in Venice on November 15, 1924; she | ||||||
7 | graduated from Venice High School; she married Floyd Hatcher | ||||||
8 | in St. Louis, Missouri on February 27, 1943; they lived in | ||||||
9 | California for a short time until he was sent to Germany during | ||||||
10 | World War II; she lived with her parents in Venice until he | ||||||
11 | returned home from Germany; from that time on, they resided in | ||||||
12 | Granite City, where she lived until the last few years; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Ruth Hatcher was a stay-at-home mom, always there | ||||||
14 | for her children when they arrived home from school; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Ruth Hatcher was a member of Niedringhaus United | ||||||
16 | Methodist Church since 1951; prior to that, she was a member of | ||||||
17 | the Venice Methodist Church; she enjoyed spending time with | ||||||
18 | her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; she also enjoyed | ||||||
19 | planning and taking family vacations every year; she loved the | ||||||
20 | St. Louis Cardinals and going to games as long as she was able; | ||||||

1 | WHEREAS, Ruth Hatcher was a dedicated wife, mother, | ||||||
2 | daughter, daughter-in-law, sister, mother-in-law, | ||||||
3 | grandmother, and great-grandmother; she was kind, patient, | ||||||
4 | loving, and always by her family's side when they needed her; | ||||||
5 | and
| ||||||
6 | WHEREAS, Ruth Hatcher was preceded in death by her | ||||||
7 | parents; her brother, Roy Lee Ferguson Jr.; and her husband of | ||||||
8 | 47 years, Floyd; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Ruth Hatcher was the mother of Darlene Marie | ||||||
10 | Hatcher, Ronald Floyd Hatcher (Carol), and Dennis Ray Hatcher | ||||||
11 | (Nancy), the grandmother of Kimberly Ann Kahn, Joshua David | ||||||
12 | Kahn (Darlene), Allison Beth Hatcher, Adam Kyle Hatcher | ||||||
13 | (Dennis), Lorri Anne Hatcher, and Michael Scott Hatcher | ||||||
14 | (Ronald), and the great-grandmother of Autumn Ruth Kahn, | ||||||
15 | Ashten Jobe Kahn (Joshua Kahn), Teddy Hatcher, Auggie Hatcher | ||||||
16 | (Lorri Hatcher), and Mia Moore (Allison Hatcher); therefore, | ||||||
17 | be it

18 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
19 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
20 | Ruth Juanita Hatcher and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
21 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
22 | further
