2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Leonard A. Freeman of Havana on June | ||||||
4 | 6, 2024; and

5 | WHEREAS, Leonard Freeman was born to William and Arnell | ||||||
6 | (Newsome) Freeman in Batesville, Arkansas on December 17, | ||||||
7 | 1947; he joined the U.S. Army in 1967, serving for nine years; | ||||||
8 | and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Leonard Freeman worked for Fornoff Fertilizer for | ||||||
10 | 10 years, and he also worked for Walker Forge; he retired from | ||||||
11 | Hinkles & McCoy in Decatur; and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Leonard Freeman was a member of VFW Post #6408 in | ||||||
13 | Havana and Local 51 IBEW in Springfield; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Leonard Freeman enjoyed hunting and fishing; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Leonard Freeman was an amazing father and | ||||||
16 | grandfather; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Leonard Freeman was preceded in death by his | ||||||
18 | parents and his sister, Sue Richardson; and

1 | WHEREAS, Leonard Freeman is survived by his longtime | ||||||
2 | girlfriend, Nadine Owens; his daughter, Dawn (Jeremy) | ||||||
3 | Showalter; his stepson, Mike (Lisa) Belanger; his | ||||||
4 | grandchildren, Kelsey Mibbs, Levi Mibbs, Jaclyn Mibbs, Jalee | ||||||
5 | Anderson, Hannah Belanger, Kourtney Showalter, and Kylee | ||||||
6 | Showalter; his great-grandchildren, Payton Smith and Karter | ||||||
7 | Showalter; his siblings, Patricia (Aaron) Wilcoxen, Donna | ||||||
8 | (Lee) DeBolt, and Jim (Vivian) Freeman; and several nieces and | ||||||
