2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Terence Joseph "Terry" Corrigan, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on May 22, 2024; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Terry Corrigan was born to John and Anne (Flynn) | ||||||
6 | Corrigan in Streator on October 7, 1955; he received a | ||||||
7 | bachelor's degree from Illinois State University and graduated | ||||||
8 | magna cum laude from the Southern Illinois University School | ||||||
9 | of Law; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Terry Corrigan practiced law in Springfield for | ||||||
11 | 40 years, working for the Illinois Supreme Court, the Office | ||||||
12 | of the Illinois Attorney General, Cassiday Schade, O'Halloran | ||||||
13 | Kosoff Geitner & Cook, and the United States Courts; he | ||||||
14 | enjoyed mentoring new lawyers; and

15 | WHEREAS, Terry Corrigan enjoyed reading about American | ||||||
16 | history, solving the New York Times crossword in ink, riding | ||||||
17 | his motorcycle across the country, and rooting for the Chicago | ||||||
18 | Cubs and Bears; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Terry Corrigan was a benevolent uncle who loved | ||||||
20 | treating his eight nieces and nephews, and he generously | ||||||
21 | donated to almost any cause in need of support; and

1 | WHEREAS, Terry Corrigan was preceded in death by his | ||||||
2 | parents; and
| ||||||
3 | WHEREAS, Terry Corrigan is survived by his brothers, Kevin | ||||||
4 | (Janice) and Gerald, and his sisters, Sharon (Dan Burkhalter) | ||||||
5 | and Jeanne (Charles McBarron); therefore, be it
| ||||||
6 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL | ||||||
7 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
8 | Terence Joseph "Terry" Corrigan and extend our sincere | ||||||
9 | condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
10 | him; and be it further
