2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Larry E. Dawson of Springfield, | ||||||
4 | formerly of Pekin, who passed away on June 28, 2024; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Larry Dawson, the son of Chester and Isabelle | ||||||
6 | (Rushing) Dawson, was born in Peoria on September 15, 1942; he | ||||||
7 | married Cheryl Lee "Cheri" (Martin) Campbell on December 21, | ||||||
8 | 1979; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Larry Dawson was a steamfitter for Local #353 for | ||||||
10 | over 60 years, retiring as business manager in 2000; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Larry Dawson's warm smile and willingness to help | ||||||
12 | others touched the lives of all who knew him; he was known for | ||||||
13 | his kindness and dedication to his family and friends; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Larry Dawson was preceded in death by his | ||||||
15 | parents; his brother, James "Jim" Dawson; his brothers-in-law, | ||||||
16 | Kenneth "Kenny" Mitzelfelt and William "Bill" Martin; and his | ||||||
17 | sisters-in-law, Mary Dawson, Jaqueline "Jackie" Mitzelfelt, | ||||||
18 | and Louise Martin; and

19 | WHEREAS, Larry Dawson is survived by his wife, Cheri; his | ||||||
20 | children, Larry (Trudy) Dawson Jr., Debora "Debbie" (Brian) |
