SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
to learn of the death of Lyndel Wilmer Klausing of Staunton,
who passed away on May 9, 2022; and
WHEREAS, Lyndel Klausing was born to Wilmer and Ramona
(Prott) Klausing on November 29, 1951; he attended school in
Mt. Olive and graduated in 1969; he then attended Southern
Illinois University Edwardsville; he served in the U.S. Army
in Vietnam from May 1971 to May 1973; he was married to Kerri
(Bertagnolli) Klausing from 1987 to 2007; and
WHEREAS, Lyndel Klausing retired from the U.S. Postal
Service; he was also employed as a realtor by Cisler and
Associates; and
WHEREAS, Lyndel Klausing served as a member of the
Macoupin County Board and the Macoupin County Republican
Central Committee; and
WHEREAS, Lyndel Klausing was a member of St. John Paul II
Catholic Church, the American Legion, AMVETS, the Knights of
Columbus, the Staunton FFA Alumni Association, and the United
Mine Workers of America; and

WHEREAS, Lyndel Klausing was preceded in death by his
parents; and
WHEREAS, Lyndel Klausing is survived by his daughter,
Holly Marie Prott Klausing, and his sister, Dawnelle
(Klausing) Hanson; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Lyndel Wilmer Klausing and extend our sincere condolences to
his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Lyndel Klausing as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
