| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Robert J. "Bob" Krawczyk; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Bob Krawczyk was born in Chicago and attended | ||||||
5 | Holy Trinity High School; he received his bachelor's degree | ||||||
6 | from the University of Illinois at Chicago and completed his | ||||||
7 | graduate coursework at DePaul University; he married Corinne | ||||||
8 | M. Pierog; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Bob Krawczyk worked in the private sector as an | ||||||
10 | architect and then became a Professor of Architecture at the | ||||||
11 | Illinois Institute of Technology (ITT) in Chicago and | ||||||
12 | eventually associate dean; during his over 30 years at IIT, he | ||||||
13 | developed and taught computer-aided and digital design | ||||||
14 | coursework; he founded art @ IIT, a campus gallery exhibition; | ||||||
15 | he authored The Codewriting Workbook, Creating Computational | ||||||
16 | Architecture in AutoLISP; he founded BitArt, which designed, | ||||||
17 | created, and manufactured architectural inspired pieces for | ||||||
18 | decor, fashion, and lifestyle; and

19 | WHEREAS, Bob Krawczyk received numerous professional | ||||||
20 | awards, including the Building Design & Construction Young | ||||||
21 | Professional Award, the American Institute of Architects Young | ||||||
22 | Architect Award, and the ACADIA Award for Teaching Excellence |

1 | by the Association of Computer Aided Design in Architecture; | ||||||
2 | he was nominated four consecutive times to be a United States | ||||||
3 | Artists Fellow; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Bob Krawczyk's family immigrated from Poland | ||||||
5 | shortly after World War II; his first language was Polish, and | ||||||
6 | he enjoyed going to restaurants for authentic Polish cuisine; | ||||||
7 | he was an avid hiker and especially loved visiting Arches | ||||||
8 | National Park in Utah; and

9 | WHEREAS, Bob Krawczyk was preceded in death by his mother, | ||||||
10 | Wladyslawa "Lottie" Dolega, and Jan "John" (Irmina) Krawczyk; | ||||||
11 | and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Bob Krawczyk is survived by his wife, Corinne; | ||||||
13 | his brothers, Konrad (Evelyn) and Albert (Kathleen); his | ||||||
14 | daughter, Alexis (Scott); his stepdaughter, Catherine (Jeff); | ||||||
15 | his stepson, James (Summer); his granddaughter, Makayla; his | ||||||
16 | step-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Francesca, and Benedetto; his | ||||||
17 | nieces, Kimberly, Lauren (Ryan), and Kristen (Colm); and his | ||||||
18 | nephew, Matthew; therefore, be it

19 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
20 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
21 | Robert J. "Bob" Krawczyk and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
22 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
