SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
to learn of the death of Robert J. "Bob" Krawczyk; and
WHEREAS, Bob Krawczyk was born in Chicago and attended
Holy Trinity High School; he received his bachelor's degree
from the University of Illinois at Chicago and completed his
graduate coursework at DePaul University; he married Corinne
M. Pierog; and
WHEREAS, Bob Krawczyk worked in the private sector as an
architect and then became a Professor of Architecture at the
Illinois Institute of Technology (ITT) in Chicago and
eventually associate dean; during his over 30 years at IIT, he
developed and taught computer-aided and digital design
coursework; he founded art @ IIT, a campus gallery exhibition;
he authored The Codewriting Workbook, Creating Computational
Architecture in AutoLISP; he founded BitArt, which designed,
created, and manufactured architectural inspired pieces for
decor, fashion, and lifestyle; and
WHEREAS, Bob Krawczyk received numerous professional
awards, including the Building Design & Construction Young
Professional Award, the American Institute of Architects Young
Architect Award, and the ACADIA Award for Teaching Excellence

by the Association of Computer Aided Design in Architecture;
he was nominated four consecutive times to be a United States
Artists Fellow; and
WHEREAS, Bob Krawczyk's family immigrated from Poland
shortly after World War II; his first language was Polish, and
he enjoyed going to restaurants for authentic Polish cuisine;
he was an avid hiker and especially loved visiting Arches
National Park in Utah; and
WHEREAS, Bob Krawczyk was preceded in death by his mother,
Wladyslawa "Lottie" Dolega, and Jan "John" (Irmina) Krawczyk;
and
WHEREAS, Bob Krawczyk is survived by his wife, Corinne;
his brothers, Konrad (Evelyn) and Albert (Kathleen); his
daughter, Alexis (Scott); his stepdaughter, Catherine (Jeff);
his stepson, James (Summer); his granddaughter, Makayla; his
step-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Francesca, and Benedetto; his
nieces, Kimberly, Lauren (Ryan), and Kristen (Colm); and his
nephew, Matthew; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Robert J. "Bob" Krawczyk and extend our sincere condolences to
his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
