| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Joan Drew Rogers, who passed away on | ||||||
| 4 | December 17, 2017; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Joan Rogers was born to James and Florence | ||||||
| 6 | (Powers) Drew on November 25, 1930; she grew up in Springfield | ||||||
| 7 | and graduated from Sacred Heart High School; she attended | ||||||
| 8 | Joliet Junior College; she married John R. Rogers at St. | ||||||
| 9 | Ferdinand Catholic Church in Chicago on June 18, 1955; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Joan Rogers and her husband relocated to Joliet, | ||||||
| 11 | where she was active in the Sacred Heart Parish; she served on | ||||||
| 12 | several committees and helped start their soup kitchen; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Joan Rogers was a member of the Joliet Women's | ||||||
| 14 | Club and served as President of the Women of Rotary of Joliet; | ||||||
| 15 | she received the De La Salle award from Lewis University; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Joan Rogers was preceded in death by her parents; | ||||||
| 17 | her sisters, Elinor Maurer and Louise O'Connor; and her | ||||||
| 18 | brother, James Drew; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Joan Rogers is survived by her husband, John | ||||||
| 20 | "Jack" Rogers; her children, John (Sue Swider) Rogers, Maureen | ||||||

| 15 | Joan Drew Rogers and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
| 16 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
