| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of John Calvin "Cal" Peters of Rock Island, | ||||||
4 | who passed away on November 15, 2015; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Cal Peters was born in Coal City on September 23, | ||||||
6 | 1927 to John Daniel and Mary Oswald Peters; he served in the | ||||||
7 | United States Marine Corps from 1946 to 1947 and from 1950 to | ||||||
8 | 1951; he married JoAnn Senter on May 20, 1951 in Coal City; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Cal Peters retired from the Rock Island Arsenal, | ||||||
10 | where he was head of maintenance; he previously worked at the | ||||||
11 | Arsenal in Joliet; in his early years, he was a partner in Coal | ||||||
12 | City Builders; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Cal Peters was a member of the National Rifle | ||||||
14 | Association and loved to hunt and fish; and
| ||||||
15 | WHEREAS, Cal Peters was preceded in death by his wife, | ||||||
16 | JoAnn, and his son, Calvin J. "Cal" Peters; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Cal Peters is survived by his daughter-in-law, | ||||||
18 | Cheryl Peters; his grandsons, John Peters and his wife, Beth, | ||||||
19 | and Michael Peters; his brother and sister-in-law, Tom and | ||||||
20 | Joanne Peters; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Anton and |

1 | Irene Bosonetta; numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

2 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
3 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
4 | John Calvin "Cal" Peters, and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
5 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
6 | further

7 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
8 | presented to the family of Cal Peters as an expression of our | ||||||
9 | deepest sympathy.
