| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Nicholas S. "Nick" Howard of Trilla, who | ||||||
| 4 | passed away on December 24, 2015; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Nicholas Howard was born on October 14, 1929 in | ||||||
| 6 | Tompkinsville, Kentucky; his parents were Cass and Lillie (nee | ||||||
| 7 | Brown) Howard; he married Wanda J. Strader on April 15, 1950 in | ||||||
| 8 | Mattoon; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Nicholas Howard retired from the Blaw-Knox | ||||||
| 10 | Manufacturing Company of Mattoon after 35 years of service; he | ||||||
| 11 | was also a former employee of the Brown Shoe Company in Mattoon | ||||||
| 12 | and the New York Central Railroad; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Nicholas Howard was a member of the Buck Grove | ||||||
| 14 | Community Church of rural Mattoon and a member of the Wabash | ||||||
| 15 | Masonic Lodge #179 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons and the | ||||||
| 16 | Order of the Eastern Star Lodge; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Nicholas Howard enjoyed being with his family and | ||||||
| 18 | friends, the outdoors, camping, fishing and hunting; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Nicholas Howard was preceded in death by his | ||||||
| 20 | parents and his brothers, Ivan and Charles L. Howard; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Nicholas Howard is survived by his wife, Wanda; | ||||||
| 2 | his son, Terry (Johnna) Howard; his daughter, Debra (Pastor | ||||||
| 3 | Mitch) Ramey; his sisters, Vida Croft and Zada Jackson; his 6 | ||||||
| 4 | grandchildren; and his 5 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | ||||||
| 7 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Nicholas S. "Nick" | ||||||
| 8 | Howard; and be it further
| ||||||
| 9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 10 | presented to the family of Nicholas Howard as an expression of | ||||||
| 11 | our sympathy.
