| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Robert Wayne "Bob" Dahman; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Bob Dahman was born to Russell and Donna Carlton | ||||||
5 | Dahman in Jacksonville on October 11, 1929; he graduated from | ||||||
6 | Winchester High School in 1948; he married Betty Coates in | ||||||
7 | June 1948; he served as a corporal with the 45th Infantry | ||||||
8 | Division and military police in the U.S. Army in Korea from | ||||||
9 | 1952 to 1954, and he received the Korean Service Ribbon with | ||||||
10 | two Bronze Stars, the National Defense Service Medal, and the | ||||||
11 | Korean War Service Medal; he later married Barbara Foreman | ||||||
12 | Buckley in June 1983; and

13 | WHEREAS, Bob Dahman was involved in farming for most of | ||||||
14 | his adult life, and he resumed farming following his military | ||||||
15 | service; in 1963, he opened Dahman Equipment Inc., selling | ||||||
16 | International Harvester Farm Equipment until his retirement; | ||||||
17 | he was continuously interested in his farms; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Bob Dahman was a member of the Winchester First | ||||||
19 | Christian Church, Winchester American Legion Post 442, the | ||||||
20 | Winchester VFW, the Scott County Historical Society, and the | ||||||
21 | Jacksonville Area Genealogical and Historical Society; he was | ||||||
22 | an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and collected toy farm |

1 | machinery and ball caps; he enjoyed traveling around the | ||||||
2 | United States and to many countries overseas; he was devoted | ||||||
3 | to his family, especially his grandchildren and | ||||||
4 | great-grandchildren; and

5 | WHEREAS, Bob Dahman was preceded in death by his parents | ||||||
6 | and his wife, Barbara; and
| ||||||
7 | WHEREAS, Bob Dahman is survived by his sons, Michael | ||||||
8 | (Brenda) and Bruce (Pamela); his grandchildren, Andrew | ||||||
9 | (Mandie), Matthew, and Michelle (Richard) Seymour; his | ||||||
10 | great-grandchildren, Zachary Dahman, Chloe Dahman, Jackson | ||||||
11 | Dahman, Keira Dahman, Alexis Seymour, and Bryce Seymour; his | ||||||
12 | sister, Rosalie (Mike) Fiedler; and his stepchildren, Anita | ||||||
13 | Arigona, Clint Buckley, and James Buckley; therefore, be it

14 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL | ||||||
15 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
16 | Robert Wayne "Bob" Dahman and extend our sincere condolences | ||||||
17 | to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be | ||||||
18 | it further

19 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
20 | presented to the family of Bob Dahman as an expression of our | ||||||
21 | deepest sympathy.
