2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Richard R. "Rick" Groch, formerly of | ||||||
4 | Mount Prospect, who passed away on January 3, 2016; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Richard Groch was born in Chicago to Harry and | ||||||
6 | Jessie (nee Breski) Groch on June 6, 1930; he served in the | ||||||
7 | military during the Korean War and married Marie LaBellarte in | ||||||
8 | Chicago on May 16, 1954; he graduated from DeVry Technical | ||||||
9 | Institute in 1958; and
| ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Richard Groch spent 37 years as an electrician | ||||||
11 | with Illinois Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 134 and a | ||||||
12 | small business owner as an electrical contractor; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Richard Groch served his community as an Elk Grove | ||||||
14 | Village Lion, serving as club President and District Treasurer; | ||||||
15 | his lifelong hobby was HO scale model railroading; he was an | ||||||
16 | Elmhurst Wagon Master and Del Webb Railroad Club member; and
| ||||||
17 | WHEREAS, Richard Groch was preceded in death by his | ||||||
18 | parents; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Richard Groch is survived by his loving wife of 61 | ||||||
20 | years, Marie; his children, Richard, Jr. (Joyce), Jeffrey |

1 | (Cyndee), David (Cheryl), Gayle (John) Wendt, and Tracey | ||||||
2 | (Gavin) Hamilton; his grandchildren, Kevin, Ryan, Jessie, | ||||||
3 | Daniel, Jeremy, Clare, and Joe Groch, Justin (Emily) Craddock, | ||||||
4 | and Bradley Craddock; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, | ||||||
5 | be it

6 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
7 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
8 | Richard R. "Rick" Groch, and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
9 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
10 | further

11 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
12 | presented to the family of Richard Groch as an expression of | ||||||
