SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Gerald A. "Jerry" Bonnette of Pekin, who
passed away on November 15, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Gerald Bonnette was born on December 5, 1938 in
Pekin; his parents were Earl and Mary (nee Cheney) Bonnette; he
married Sharon Morrissey on June 27, 1959 at Sacre Coeur Church
in Creve Coeur; and
WHEREAS, Gerald Bonnette retired as vice president of the
Independent Steelworkers Alliance in 2002 after 41 years of
service; and
WHEREAS, Gerald Bonnette was a member of St. Joseph
Catholic Church in Pekin and the Sunset Hills Golf Club; he was
also a member of Pekin Moose Lodge 916; and
WHEREAS, Gerald Bonnette enjoyed spending time with his
family and pets, playing golf with his buddies, and collecting
miniature Christmas ornaments; and
WHEREAS, Gerald Bonnette was preceded in death by his
mother; and

WHEREAS, Gerald Bonnette is survived by his wife, Sharon; 2
sons, Michael Bonnette and Terry Bonnette; his father; and 2
stepbrothers, Gary (Carolyn) Minar and Ed (Lynnette) Minar;
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
family and friends, mourn the passing of Gerald A. "Jerry"
Bonnette; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Gerald Bonnette as an expression of
our sympathy.
