2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Bradley G. Demuzio of Springfield, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on November 9, 2014; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Bradley Demuzio was born on September 3, 1964 in | ||||||
6 | Carlinville; his parents were former Illinois State Senators | ||||||
7 | Vince Demuzio and Deanna (nee Clemonds) Demuzio; and
| ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Bradley Demuzio had a long and distinguished | ||||||
9 | career as a public servant; from 1984 to 1986, he worked in the | ||||||
10 | Child Support Division of the Cook County State's Attorney's | ||||||
11 | Office; from 1986 to 1999, he worked as a criminal investigator | ||||||
12 | for the Illinois Attorney General's office; on February 16, | ||||||
13 | 1999, he began serving at the Illinois Secretary of State | ||||||
14 | Police as the Chief Deputy Director; in 2002, he began serving | ||||||
15 | as Director of the Secretary of State Police, where he served | ||||||
16 | until his passing; he also represented Secretary White on the | ||||||
17 | Motor Vehicle Theft Prevention Council and served as Mayor of | ||||||
18 | Carlinville from 1993 to 2005; and

19 | WHEREAS, Bradley Demuzio was a graduate of the FBI National | ||||||
20 | Academy, Session 207; he was a member of the FBI National | ||||||
21 | Academy Associates for Illinois and served as the | ||||||
22 | organization's Illinois President in 2008; he was also a member |

1 | of the International and Illinois Associations of Chiefs of | ||||||
2 | Police, the Sangamon County Law Enforcements Executives, and | ||||||
3 | the Illinois Sheriffs' Association; and
| ||||||
4 | WHEREAS, Bradley Demuzio was an avid golfer and hunter; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Bradley Demuzio was preceded in death by his | ||||||
6 | father, Vince Demuzio; his grandparents, Vincent and Catherine | ||||||
7 | Demuzio and John and Virginia Clemonds; and an aunt and uncle, | ||||||
8 | Bernadette and David Hasquin; and
| ||||||
9 | WHEREAS, Bradley Demuzio is survived by 2 children, Blake | ||||||
10 | Demuzio and Brooke Demuzio; his mother, Deanna Demuzio; a | ||||||
11 | sister, Stephanie (Patrick) Blair; a nephew, Tristan Blair; a | ||||||
12 | niece, Gillian Blair; and 3 aunts, Marlene Demuzio, Catherine | ||||||
13 | (Peter) Visintine, and Donna (James) Burke; therefore, be it
| ||||||
14 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL | ||||||
15 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | ||||||
16 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Bradley G. Demuzio; | ||||||
17 | and be it further

18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
19 | presented to the family of Bradley Demuzio as an expression of | ||||||
20 | our sympathy.
