1 | SENATE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Larry G. Alkire of Libertyville, who | ||||||
4 | passed away on November 4, 2014; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Larry Alkire was born in Des Moines, Iowa on | ||||||
6 | October 14, 1932 to Glen and Sadie Alkire; he graduated from | ||||||
7 | the University of Iowa with a degree in Journalism, where he | ||||||
8 | was a member of ROTC; he served in the United States Air Force | ||||||
9 | as a public information officer in Ankara, Turkey; he married | ||||||
10 | Marylyn "Mickey" Busker; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Larry Alkire was a member of the Libertyville | ||||||
12 | Township Board and he served as a precinct committeeman; he | ||||||
13 | also served on the board of the Libertyville Historical Society | ||||||
14 | and was a member of the Gardeners of Central Lake County; he | ||||||
15 | was honored as a Libertyville Senior of the Year; and

16 | WHEREAS, Larry Alkire was preceded in death by his parents; | ||||||
17 | and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Larry Alkire is survived by his wife, Marylyn; his | ||||||
19 | brother, William "Bill" Alkire; 5 nieces and nephews; and his | ||||||
20 | sister-in-law, Deloris (Dr. Robert) Linden; therefore, be it

2 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
3 | Larry G. Alkire, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
4 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
5 | further

6 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
7 | presented to the family of Larry Alkire as an expression of our | ||||||
8 | deepest sympathy.
