SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Margaret M. Snelten of Lake in the Hills,
who passed away on November 6, 2014; and
WHEREAS, Margaret Snelten was born in Evanston on October
25, 1921; and
WHEREAS, Margaret Snelten was a social butterfly who took a
caring and true interest in the lives of others; she was
fiercely independent, had a sharp sense of humor, and amazed
people with her quick wit; she cherished her many years playing
baseball and was constantly active in her garden; and
WHEREAS, Margaret Snelten was preceded in death by her
daughter, Debra Wieber; her sisters, Eleanor and Lucille; and
her brothers, Jerry, Lambert, Lawrence and John; and
WHEREAS, Margaret Snelten was the beloved wife of the late
John J.; the beloved mother of Diane (Peter) Sorensen, David
(Julie) Snelten, and Donald Snelten; the adored grandmother of
Fallon (Guy) Dickson, Tara Wieber, John Snelten, Brooke
Snelten, Jaclyn (Jeremy) Manning, Matthew Wieber, Kevin
Sorensen, DJ Snelten, Mark Wieber, and Rob Wieber; and the
loving great-grandmother of Giuliana Dickson and David

Dickson; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Margaret M. Snelten, and extend our sincere condolences to her
family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Margaret Snelten as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
