SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Richard J. Mader, who passed away on July
25, 2016; and
WHEREAS, Richard Mader was born on July 8, 1947 in Chicago;
his parents were Joe and Margaret Mary Mader; he married Mary
Margaret Cousley on August 16, 1969 in Alton; and
WHEREAS, Richard Mader was a graduate of Western Illinois
University and a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church;
and
WHEREAS, Richard Mader taught at Ss. Peter and Paul School
before joining the family business at the Alton Telegraph in
the circulation department; after retiring from the newspaper
business, he returned to teaching in the Alton School District
as a substitute teacher and a teacher's aide; and
WHEREAS, Richard Mader was preceded in death by his
parents; his wife, Mary; and his sister, Judy Piepenbrink; and
WHEREAS, Richard Mader is survived by his sons, Matt
(Jessica) Mader and Drew (Hope) Mader; his grandchildren,
Finley, Riley, and Wren Mader; and his sister, Sue Moirano;

therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
family and friends, mourn the passing of Richard J. Mader; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Richard Mader as an expression of
our sympathy.
