| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Hope Jovicin of Richton Park, who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away on July 18, 2016; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Hope Jovicin was an active member of the Human | ||||||
| 6 | Relations Commission; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Hope Jovicin served as the Resident | ||||||
| 8 | Representative for Park Towers Annual Resident
Appreciation | ||||||
| 9 | Picnic; she was an Associate Member of the Senior Citizen | ||||||
| 10 | Advisory Committee; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Hope Jovicin was a vital member of the "Collation | ||||||
| 12 | to do Good" to help bring relief to
orphans in Jeremie, Haiti | ||||||
| 13 | on the "Fill the Bus" project; she was an advocate for the Cat | ||||||
| 14 | Island Sister
City Project and became a member of the Sister | ||||||
| 15 | City Committee; she was an advocate for the annual "I Make A | ||||||
| 16 | Difference" awards ceremony and
the Neighbor to Neighbor | ||||||
| 17 | Dinners hosted at Park Towers; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Hope Jovicin was recognized and awarded a | ||||||
| 19 | certificate for the Age Options Volunteer
Awards Luncheon, | ||||||
| 20 | which connects older adults with community-based resources and | ||||||
| 21 | options; she received an award for the annual "I Make A | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | Difference" ceremony and
was selected as Unsung Heroine of Cook | ||||||
| 2 | County 6th District; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, Hope Jovicin was selected as the 2013 Richton Park | ||||||
| 4 | Citizen of the Year; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 5 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 6 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 7 | Hope Jovicin, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, | ||||||
| 8 | friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
| ||||||
| 9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 10 | presented to the family of Hope Jovicin as an expression of our | ||||||
| 11 | deepest sympathy.
