2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Anthony "Tony" Zelnio, formerly of | ||||||
4 | Moline, who passed away on August 4, 2016; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Anthony Zelnio was born in Moline to Dyzmo and | ||||||
6 | Maria (Ivanowski) Zelnio on April 28, 1924; he served as a | ||||||
7 | Sergeant in the United States Army Air Corps during World War | ||||||
8 | II; he was a prisoner of war in Stalag IX, Germany and was | ||||||
9 | awarded the Purple Heart; he married Norma L. Dendooven in | ||||||
10 | Moline on July 3, 1945; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Anthony Zelnio worked at John Deere Harvester | ||||||
12 | Works and Reynolds Engineering for a combined 40 years; and
| ||||||
13 | WHEREAS, Anthony Zelnio was a member of St. Mary's Church | ||||||
14 | in Moline, the Material Handling Society, the John Deere | ||||||
15 | Supervisors Club, John Deere Retirees, Moline Senior Citizens, | ||||||
16 | American Legion Post 246, the Vikings Club, and the American | ||||||
17 | Prisoners of War Society; and
| ||||||
18 | WHEREAS, Anthony Zelnio was preceded in death by his wife, | ||||||
19 | Norma; his parents; and his four brothers; and
| ||||||
20 | WHEREAS, Anthony Zelnio is survived by his sons, Thomas |

2 | Zelnio; his grandchildren, Jeff, Ryan, Kevin, Erin, Chris, | ||||||

4 | Elliot, Freya, Ariana, Madoc, Noah, and Hudson; therefore, be | ||||||

6 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
7 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
8 | Anthony "Tony" Zelnio, and extend our sincere condolences to | ||||||
9 | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
