SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Ronald L. "Ron" Egan of East Dundee, who
passed away on November 19, 2015; and
WHEREAS, Ronald Egan was born on September 21, 1947 in
Chicago; his parents were John and Dorothy Egan; he was a
lifelong resident of the Dundee area; and
WHEREAS, Ronald Egan was a highly decorated veteran of the
United States Army during the Vietnam War; he was awarded the
Silver Star, the Bronze Star with "V" Device, four Purple
Hearts, the Army Commendation Medal, the National Defense
Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with three bronze
Service Stars, the Combat Infantryman Badge 1st Award, the
Republic of Vietnam Campaign Ribbon with Device, the Expert
Badge with Auto Rifle Bar with Machine Gun Bar, the Marksman
Badge with Rifle Bar, and the Parachutist Badge - Basic for his
service; and
WHEREAS, Ronald Egan was a member of the Dundee Veterans of
Foreign Wars #2298; and
WHEREAS, Ronald Egan is survived by his siblings, Judith
Jerald, John (Nicole) Egan, and Patricia Del Giudice; his niece

and nephews, Jamison, Derek, Drew, Regan, Michael, Sean, Matt,
and David; and many godchildren and friends; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
family and friends, mourn the passing of Ronald L. "Ron" Egan;
and be it further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Ronald Egan as an expression of our
sympathy.
