2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Werner Schwarz of Moline, who passed away | ||||||
4 | on September 5, 2016; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Werner Schwarz was born in Heide, Germany to | ||||||
6 | Arnold and Margaretha Lievens Schwarz in 1933; he came to the | ||||||
7 | United States aboard the S.S. America at the age of 20, without | ||||||
8 | speaking a word of English; he became a naturalized citizen in | ||||||
9 | 1959 and served two years in Korea with the United States Army; | ||||||
10 | he married Delphine Ziegler in East Moline on April 30, 1966; | ||||||
11 | and
| ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Werner Schwarz served as a carpenter and job | ||||||
13 | superintendent for Willi Frank & Sons Construction Co. for 18 | ||||||
14 | years before joining the engineering department of Eagle Food | ||||||
15 | Centers in 1971; he retired from Eagle as the construction | ||||||
16 | supervisor in 1995; and

17 | WHEREAS, Werner Schwarz was preceded in death by his | ||||||
18 | parents and his sister, Erika Schwarz; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Werner Schwarz is survived by his wife of 50 | ||||||
20 | years, Delphine; his son, Chris (Jill) Schwarz; his daughter, | ||||||
21 | Stacie Schwarz; his stepgrandson, Andrew Doll; his sister, |

1 | Gerda Nagler; his brother, Volker (Ilona) Schwarz; his niece, | ||||||
2 | Sabine Abu-Shagrah; and his nephews, Heiko Schwarz and Axel | ||||||
3 | Schwarz; therefore, be it

4 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
5 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
6 | Werner Schwarz, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
7 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
8 | further

9 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
10 | presented to the family of Werner Schwarz as an expression of | ||||||
11 | our deepest sympathy.
