SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Lois Jean Powell, who passed away on
November 15, 2018; and
WHEREAS, Lois Powell was born in Sheridan on December 1,
1933; she graduated from the Lake Forest School of Management;
and
WHEREAS, Lois Powell worked at the Xerox Corporation for
over 20 years; and
WHEREAS, Lois Powell was an avid reader and enjoyed
crossword puzzles and following the Chicago Cubs; most of all,
she loved spending time with her family; and
WHEREAS, Lois Powell was preceded in death by her grandson,
Ryan Fisher; and
WHEREAS, Lois Powell is survived by her husband, Ronald
Powell; her children, Kelly (Mark) Morrissey, Bradley (Joanne)
Powell, Steven Powell, and Kerry Fisher; her grandchildren,
Nicholas (Tricia Kutrumanes), Mark (Amanda), Michelle,
Matthew, Ronald, Camille, Michael, Tyler (Koni), Trevor
(Jasmine), Sean (Rose), and Rachel; her great-grandchildren,

Braylon, Jaylen, Rylee, and Jax; her sister, Joyce Lejcar; and
her dear friend, Penney Wyman; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Lois Jean Powell and extend our sincere condolences to her
family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Lois Powell as an expression of our
deepest sympathy.
