SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of Valeria Bimbi of Lincolnshire, who passed
away on October 12, 2016; and
WHEREAS, Valeria Bimbi was born in Cargedolo, Italy to
Sergio and Elide (Bette) Romitti on August 25, 1941; she
immigrated to the United States at the age of 25 to join her
husband, Domenico Bimbi, and they settled in Highwood; and
WHEREAS, Valeria Bimbi was a seamstress at the Style Shop
in Highland Park, and later in her own business; and
WHEREAS, Valeria Bimbi was affectionately known as
"Nonna"; and
WHEREAS, Valeria Bimbi was preceded in death by her parents
and her brother, Alberto (Claudia); and
WHEREAS, Valeria Bimbi is survived by her husband,
Domenico; her children, Stefano (Beth), Viviana (Steve)
Zimmerman, and Cristiano (Joni); and her grandchildren,
Stephanie, Dario, and Olivia Bimbi, and Derek, Blake, Briana,
and Grant Zimmerman; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
Valeria Bimbi, and extend our sincere condolences to her
family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of Valeria Bimbi as an expression of
our deepest sympathy.
