| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
| 3 | learn of the death of Glenn C. Friel of Rock Island, who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away on October 18, 2016; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Glenn Friel was born on April 8, 1922 in | ||||||
| 6 | McLeansboro; his parents were Thomas and Mary Mayberry Friel; | ||||||
| 7 | he married Helen Clark on April 6, 1947; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Glenn Friel served in the United States Army | ||||||
| 9 | during World War II as part of the Merrill's Marauders unit; | ||||||
| 10 | and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Glenn Friel was employed by Globe Machinery as a | ||||||
| 12 | purchasing agent for many years; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Glenn Friel was a former member of Memorial | ||||||
| 14 | Heights Methodist Church and a current member of Good Shepherd | ||||||
| 15 | Presbyterian Church in Rock Island; he was also a member of Tri | ||||||
| 16 | City Purchasing; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Glenn Friel enjoyed fishing, hunting, and antique | ||||||
| 18 | cars; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, Glenn Friel was preceded in death by his wife, | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | Helen; his parents; and his sister, Dorothy French; and
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, Glenn Friel is survived by his sons, Randy | ||||||
| 3 | (Glenna) Friel and Rickey (Debbie) Friel; his grandchildren, JT | ||||||
| 4 | Friel, Chad (Abby) Friel, and Kara (David) Shultz; and his | ||||||
| 5 | great-grandchildren, Charlie, Tate, Landon, Aiden, Gavin, and | ||||||
| 6 | Mason; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 7 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 8 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his | ||||||
| 9 | family and friends, mourn the passing of Glenn C. Friel; and be | ||||||
| 10 | it further

| 11 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 12 | presented to the family of Glenn Friel as an expression of our | ||||||
| 13 | sympathy.
