SENATE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
learn of the death of William E. Armstrong of Mettawa, who
passed away on October 21, 2016, at the age of 67; and
WHEREAS, William Armstrong graduated from Libertyville
High School and Northwestern University with honors; and
WHEREAS, William Armstrong retired from the United States
Military Processing Center, U.S. Department of Defense; and
WHEREAS, William Armstrong was a former Trustee for the
Village of Mettawa; he was the former Chairman for COVE
(Children's Outreach Vocational Education) of Kapeeka, Uganda
and a member of the Libertyville Masonic Lodge; and
WHEREAS, William Armstrong is survived by his wife of 23
years, Carol (Batson); his children, Tom Lorenz, Tammie Smith,
and Karen (Arthur) Barrie; his grandchildren, Joshua Lorenz,
Ryan Baker, Kyle Baker, Madison Baker, and Madeline Barrie; and
his brothers, Robert (Cathy) Armstrong and Stuart (Susan)
Armstrong; therefore, be it
RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

William E. Armstrong, and extend our sincere condolences to his
family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
presented to the family of William Armstrong as an expression
of our deepest sympathy.
