2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to | ||||||
3 | learn of the death of Alfonzy Williams, who passed away on | ||||||
4 | September 19, 2016; and
| ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Alfonzy Williams was born in Starkville, | ||||||
6 | Mississippi to Charles and Aurelia Moore Williams on April 29, | ||||||
7 | 1928; he was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church in | ||||||
8 | Starkville; he served in the United States Air Force from 1945 | ||||||
9 | to 1949; after the war, he moved to East St. Louis and joined | ||||||
10 | Paul Baptist Church; and
| ||||||
11 | WHEREAS, Alfonzy Williams worked for ITT Blackburn; after | ||||||
12 | his retirement, he owned and operated Tony's Food Shop; he also | ||||||
13 | owned several real estate properties; and
| ||||||
14 | WHEREAS, Alfonzy Williams married LeJeanne (Max) McNeese | ||||||
15 | on November 12, 2013; and
| ||||||
16 | WHEREAS, Alfonzy Williams was a comedian and enjoyed making | ||||||
17 | people laugh; he also enjoyed going to Jerry's Cafe after | ||||||
18 | church and watching sports in his favorite chair; and
| ||||||
19 | WHEREAS, Alfonzy Williams was preceded in death by his | ||||||
20 | parents, and 17 siblings; and

1 | WHEREAS, Alfonzy Williams is survived by his wife, | ||||||
2 | LeJeanne; his sister, Susie Williams; his brother, Jefferson | ||||||
3 | Williams; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; and a host | ||||||
4 | of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other | ||||||
5 | relatives, and friends; therefore, be it

6 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL | ||||||
7 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
8 | Alfonzy Williams, and extend our sincere condolences to his | ||||||
9 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it | ||||||
10 | further
| ||||||
11 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
12 | presented to the family of Alfonzy Williams as an expression of | ||||||
13 | our deepest sympathy.
